UECHI-RYU KARATE
Uechi-Ryu Karate is an Okinawan adopted system of Chinese Kung-Fu. It was originally known as Pangai-noon, which means "half hard and half soft." Consequently, Uechi-Ryu is a combination of Pangainoon and Okinawan fighting techniques. Uechi-Ryu is based on the animal movements of the tiger, dragon, and crane.
YANG STYLE TAI CHI
Tai Chi Chuan, commonly referred to as Tai Chi, is an ancient Chinese exercise translated means "The Supreme Ultimate Boxing System." The slow, relaxing movements produce a healthy body exercise and strength regimen.

Where Students Come First
COLIBRI MARTIAL ARTS (CMA) is born out of a strong passion and ceaseless commitment to making every student feel part of a martial arts family. As a 501(c)3, a non-profit school, CMA's mission is to make accessible the martial arts of Uechi-Ryu and Tai Chi for self-defense and health to anyone desiring to learn regardless of ability to pay. CMA is a leader in creating a setting supporting students from all backgrounds and levels, encouraging individual strength and power. Since the legacy U.S. TAI CHI ACADEMY (USTCA) opened in 2011, it has had the opportunity to help countless students acquire foundational skills and develop and strengthen themselves to move forward in their learning journey confidently. Legacy USTCA closed down during the start of the COVID pandemic and has now become CMA in 2022.
Please note that CMA provides martial arts instruction in an environment devoid of Eastern mysticism, new age philosophy, or symbolism. If you've ever wanted to study martial arts but have hesitated because of performance or social anxiety, then CMA is your school. Contact me with questions or to learn more!
